Why are construction projects plagued with change orders and delays?
The answer is, most construction documents are not “fabrication-ready”, and aren’t even intended to be. They are what is termed “Level of Development 300” which is that only the general shapes and sizes of the building elements are resolved.
The intent of designers and engineers is that the General Contractor will complete the documents by the use of shop drawings, layout drawings, and will do the clash detection and coordination to make all the parts and pieces of the building fit together. This is termed “Level of Development 400” and is ready for a tradesperson to begin fabricating the building
This is where we come in. We occupy that space between design and construction using our extensive background as Architects, construction experts and BIM modelers to create a complete, accurate and constructible model of the building, where all the clashes and errors are resolved, ready to build.
Our goal is, quite immodestly, to eradicate change orders and delays
